where qenclosed is the total charge enclosed inside the surface. This important result is called Gauss’s Law and can be stated as follows:
For a system of charges, the net flux through any closed surface ‘S’ is equal to 1/e0 times the net charge inside the surface.
Example If a dipole is enclosed by a closed surface S, then total flux due to this charge
distribution is zero.
